How We Compare

Flat rates, no multi-month contracts, 0% of your ad spend taken, and analytics you can verify yourself — here's the line-by-line proof.

Us vs. Them

Test us against the competition

Equilibrium Marketing is a Loveland, Colorado marketing agency with no multi-month contracts, flat-rate pricing, 0% of your ad spend taken, and first-party analytics you can check yourself. Most agencies offer none of those four. Below is the line-by-line comparison, plus exactly why each row matters to your wallet.

We built this table because we kept hearing the same horror stories from business owners: locked into year-long contracts, billed a mystery percentage of their ad budget, and handed a branded dashboard instead of real numbers. So here it is, side by side. Bring it to any agency's sales call and watch what happens.

The first three rows are table stakes. Any agency with a pulse manages search ads, social ads, and SEO. The bottom eight rows are where you find out who an agency actually works for: you, or their own billing department. Every one of those rows gets a full explanation below.

Zero long term contracts since 2019, and a team that has served 200+ businesses over their careers.

Row by Row · No Long Term Contracts

Why doesn't Equilibrium Marketing require contracts?

Because if we're not earning your business this month, we don't deserve it next month. Every Equilibrium Marketing engagement is month-to-month. You can leave any month with 20 days notice, with no exit fee and no fine print.

Most agencies lock clients into 3-month to 3-year contracts, and they'll tell you it's “so the strategy has time to work.” Strategy does take time. But notice the contract never protects you if the strategy fails; it only protects the agency's invoices while it does. A long contract isn't a commitment to you. It's insurance against their own results. We've run without contracts since 2019, and it keeps us sharp, because the moment we stop performing, you can stop paying.

Row by Row · 0% Ad Spend Taken

What does “0% ad spend taken” actually mean?

It means 100% of your advertising budget goes to the ad platforms and nowhere else. We never take a cut of your ad spend. You pay one flat management fee, and every dollar you budget for ads actually buys ads.

Plenty of agencies take 25% to 50% of your ad spend as their fee, and some don't even itemize it. Hand one of them $4,000 a month for advertising and as little as $2,000 reaches Google or Meta. The rest buys their office furniture. It also poisons the advice you get: an agency paid a percentage of spend profits every time you raise your budget, whether or not the campaigns work. Ours doesn't. See exactly how on our Google Ads management and social media advertising pages.

Row by Row · First-Party Analytics

What is first-party analytics, and why should you demand it?

First-party analytics means your results come straight from accounts you own: your Google Ads, your Meta Ads Manager, your Google Analytics. You hold the logins. You can check every number yourself at 2 a.m. without asking anyone's permission.

That should be the bare minimum, and somehow it's rare. When reporting flows through an agency-controlled dashboard, you're trusting the company that spends your money to grade its own homework. We report only from tools you own and can audit, because numbers you can't verify yourself aren't results. They're marketing.

Row by Row · Flat-Rate Pricing

Why is flat-rate pricing better than a percentage of ad spend?

Flat-rate pricing means you know exactly what you'll pay before the month starts, and the fee stays the same whether you spend $1,000 or $20,000 on ads. When your budget grows, the extra money goes into your growth, not our invoice.

Percentage-of-spend pricing puts the agency's paycheck in direct conflict with your budget. Every recommendation to “scale up” comes with a built-in raise for them, which is why so many agencies push bigger budgets before proving the smaller one works. Every service we offer, from paid ads and SEO to social media management, is a flat monthly rate. Boring, predictable, and entirely the point.

Row by Row · “Proprietary” Analytics

What's wrong with “proprietary analytics”?

“Proprietary” is agency-speak for “a dashboard we built, showing the numbers we picked, that you can't verify anywhere else.” When the company spending your money also controls the only scoreboard, the score always looks great.

The trick is everywhere: “visibility scores” with no units, rank reports for keywords nobody searches, graphs that only go up. The SEO industry turned it into an art form, and we wrote a whole teardown of it in The SEO Scam. The test is simple: if a report can't survive a side-by-side look at your own Google Analytics, it wasn't reporting. It was decoration.

Row by Row · Hidden Pricing

Why do so many agencies say “call for pricing”?

Because the price depends on you. Specifically, on how much the salesperson decides you'll tolerate. Hidden pricing isn't modesty. It's a negotiation tactic, and you're the one being negotiated.

We do it differently. Our website design pricing is published right on the page, starting at $3,500. Our management services are flat monthly rates we'll quote in one honest conversation, and the number won't mysteriously inflate once someone checks what car you drive. Want your number today? Send us a message or call (970) 660-7253. No discovery-call gauntlet required.

Take This With You

Will your next agency survive these eight questions?

Ask these eight questions before you sign with anyone, including us. An honest agency will answer all eight without flinching. A bad one will start tap-dancing somewhere around question two.

  • How long is the contract, and what does it cost to leave? Month-to-month should be the default. Anything longer needs an extraordinary reason.
  • Do you take a percentage of my ad spend, and exactly how much? Then do the math on your budget. Out loud. In front of them.
  • Will I have full login access to my own ad accounts and analytics? “You’ll get a monthly report” is not a yes.
  • Who owns my accounts, my website, and my data if we part ways? The answer should be you, in writing.
  • What is the actual price? “It depends” is acceptable once. Ask what it depends on and watch what happens.
  • Who will actually be working on my account? The star of the sales call is rarely the person running your campaigns.
  • What results are realistic in the first 90 days? Anyone guaranteeing rankings or returns before seeing your data is guessing or lying.
  • Will reporting come from my accounts or your “proprietary” dashboard? If you can't verify it in tools you own, it doesn't count.
